Comfort Zone

Posted by Imagination Station on

As the temperature drops and the darkness moves in, like the black bear, our instinct is to find a comfortable spot to curl up with a warm blanket and a multiple season Netflix show. The urge to seek refuge in our comfort zone is strong and has limited even the most ambitious among us. So many emotions accompany us as we seek to venture out into the darkness. The ground breaking author, Brené Brown said “You can choose courage or you can choose comfort. You cannot have both.” In our fast paced world where advancements seem to be coming at us faster than we can try yesterday’s version, it can be intimidating to act on our ideas and dreams.

Imagination Station has been in business for 19 years and there is a great deal of comfort in the experience we have gained over these years. We have added a new company here and there or moved a stand to the other side of the store just to feel like we were evolving. We have felt the pressure to look at selling online but without giving away too much information on our ages we definitely were more likely to search an encyclopedia than use a search engine. We have had endless conversations convincing ourselves that we could not compete in the online world, that we don’t have the knowledge, that it doesn’t fit our brand, that we don’t have the technology, etc. etc. etc. Finally, after many stops and starts we got off the couch, put the blanket away and turned off Netflix. We are happy, excited and a little scared to introduce Imagination Station Online. We have carefully selected some of our very best products to offer our customers along with personalized shopping assistance in choosing just the right toys for the special children in your lives.  Today we took Eleanor Roosevelt’s advice “Do one thing every day that scares you” and it feels great!!
